NAT Sound Break

Leo: Throughout history, humanity has been drawn to mysteries beyond our understanding. From ancient rituals to modern practices, we've sought ways to connect with the universe, find answers, and discover deeper truths about ourselves.

VO: Alina Deva is a professional Tarot Card Reader. She started her tarot journey at 23 years old. She picked the tarot from her family, and now she is also passing it on to her son.

Alina: Human beings are human beings, and I've been doing this since 1984. And I can tell you that human beings again are human beings, and they have two main concerns in life: logical relationships and career or love and money.

Leo: Tarot, a deck of 78 cards, is a tapestry woven with the threads of human experience. Its origins, shrouded in mystery, trace back to the 15th century, if not earlier.

Alina: The essence... once you know the meaning of tarot cards, especially the major arcana, you understand the Fool's Journey. The fool is the zero card, a young man with a little dog venturing to discover the world. With each card, they experience another human situation - some painful, some wonderful.

Leo: The global pandemic has been a time of introspection, uncertainty, and change for many. With lives and routines disrupted, individuals turned to practices offering a semblance of control and predictability.

VO: Psychology professor Eileen McBride from Emerson College.

Eileen: Control is such a critical part of mental well-being. If you have two people and both are under equal amounts of stress, you would expect them to have the same kind of symptoms. But if one feels more of a sense of control, their health outcomes are much better.

Leo: Life's journey is filled with unexpected twists and turns, and the recent global pandemic has added more complexity to our paths. In search of understanding and a touchstone amidst the chaos, many have turned to age-old practices like tarot. Here is Alina.

Alina: You cannot plan many things in life, no matter how hard you try, that is not quantifiable. The closest we have is the scientific method, but you can only apply that to some things. Everything is a miracle or a mystery until it passes the scientific method, and some things still need to be done.

Leo: In these spaces of mystery, practices like tarot find their resonance. Tarot doesn't claim to replace the scientific method but rather complements it, offering insights into our emotional and spiritual dimensions. In a world where not everything can be measured or quantified, tarot provides a bridge to understanding the intangible, the mysterious, and the profoundly personal.

Alina: Many mental health providers, if you go into psychology today. com, many healthcare providers, psychologists, and psychiatrists are using tarot cards as part of therapy.

Leo: Life is a series of mysteries and miracles; while not all can be explained, they can all be felt. And perhaps, in the grand tapestry of life, feeling our way through is the most profound science of all. Thank you for joining me, Leo, on Cards of Clarity. May your path be enlightened with the insights you seek, and until next time, may you embrace the mysteries of your life with courage and curiosity.
